- Ensures a tidy installation
“An innovative solution to the difficulties caused by installing air valves into fragile ceiling tiles.”
When installing air supply or extract valves into ceiling tiles, you will often find that screwing into tiles that are made of fragile materials such as plasterboard will prove difficult, as the edge of the tile is very weak and susceptible to breaking making for a very frustrating experience for installers. The Terlok Ring Leader resolves this issue in a simple but brilliant way. Available in multiple diameters to suit different ducting and valve sizes.
How does it work?
The Ring Leader gives the screws something solid to bite into as they pass through the tile instead of crumbly plasterboard. It also increases the surface area massively, creating a strong, reliable grip.
Ceiling Tile installation
After using the ring leader as a template, cut the required aperture into the ceiling tile/panel, then with the Ring Leader held in position on the opposite side of the tile/panel, screw the mounting ring into place and through the Ring Leader. Attach the ducting you are using, then finally fit the air valve into the tile or panel and secure into place.
Solid ceiling installation
When dealing with a solid ceiling, you can install the Ring Leader by snapping the perforations, then using the Ring Leader as a template, draw and cut out out your required aperture (ensuring that you have cut the hole for the hose band clip). You can then rotate the Ring Leader through the gap in the ceiling by slightly twisting it and pressing it through the hole, making sure to align the cut-outs for the hose band clip. Whilst applying pressure by pressing down with your fingers, screw the Ring Leader into place.
Pull the flexible ducting through the aperture and attach the mounting ring to the ducting using a hose clip, then press back up into the ceiling, finally securing the mounting ring into place through the ceiling into the Ring Leader. You can then fit your air valve to finish.
No Installation repair work or cover-ups
By using the Terlok Ring Leader, you can ensure a clean and tidy installation of an air valve into a ceiling that would otherwise require some degree of repair work or covering up of damage to the tiles caused during installation.
