Single room heat recovery unit that is designed for a continuous operation providing up to 70% Heat Recovery.

The HR100R and HR100RS are ideal for single bedroom/bathroom applications such as hotel rooms, nursing homes and residential care homes.
The HR100R features top access and is ideal for loft installations.
The HR100RS features bottom access and is ideal for installation on the ceiling slab above a suspended ceiling
The unit comes fitted with a single 2-speed motor and provides continuous low volume ventilation with a boost option. A variety of control devices are available for manual or automatic speed control.
An integral heat exchanger transfers heat from the outgoing stale air to the fresh air supply, raising the supply air temperature whilst at the same time reducing its relative humidity.
Up to 66m³/h FID capacity (extract airflow). As the unit provides superior control of condensation and odours best use would be in bathrooms or small internal rooms.
Installation
The HR100 is compatible with 100mm diameter flexible ducting which fits onto the unit via the metal spigots and can be fastened using tape or worm drive clips.
A 22mm diameter condensate drain connection is situated on the base of the unit, this should be connected to a suitable outlet for condensate drainage.

Efficiency: The unit should retain up to 70% of the temperature differential of outgoing air.
Heat exchanger: should be of a multi-plate cross-flow type constructed out of a polymeric plastic with ultrasonically welded joints.
Motor: Should be a 2 speed 240V 50Hz A/C with sleeve bearings, greased for life. It shall operate up to an ambient temperature of 40°C and be fitted with a one-shot thermal overload protective device.
Fan: The two polymeric fan wheels should be a centrifugal forward curve type on a common shaft.
Controls: The unit should be operated via a remote Trickle Boost switch or a humidistat. A light switch can be used providing a ‘timed out’ device is employed.
Ducting spigots: The unit should provide 100mm Ø x 50mm spigots for all duct connections. The unit cannot be handed. (Can be converted to flat ducting).
Filter: not fitted.
Condensation: the outlet provided should be 22mm Ø located on the underside of the unit.
Construction: the unit outer case is manufactured from white powder-coated sheet metal.

I previously have bought the Kair K-HRV150 from yourselves and that works well for an ensuite refit, compared to a standard extractor.
Currently I have a loft conversion underway and would like another heat recovery extractor and this looks like it fits the bill. Its likely the extraction needs to go out to the roof. Is this suitable? Could you recommend pipe/ducting and vents (internal + external) that would be suitable and additional items that would be needed with this for fitting?
My builder specialises in loft conversions but has never heard of these heat recovery units.
I am assuming this can be fitted into the new ceiling which will be quite thick due to insulation fitted these days.

Extracting from above a radiator will maximise heat recovery efficiency and input is best placed furthest away from the rooms entrance door. Externally the two vents can be as close as 300mm as long as the exhaust is directed away from the intake vent.

I am converting a 9m2 ground floor room in my townhouse into a music studio and therefore am trying to seal the paths where air would normally enter/leave. The window will have no trickle vent, for example.
This unit looks ideal, would it be sufficient to provide the only ventilation to a room with 1-2 occupants?

Thanks Garethanswer nowA Hello GarethIf the ceiling height is the average of 2.4m the volume of air in the room will be 21.6 cubic metres. At normal trickle speed this unit would create a whole room air change every 30 mins (boost every 20mins) so there is no reason to doubt that this would be sufficient for your requirements.

It has been tanked and is completely underground, however, the ceiling void is just above ground level at one end as the ground falls away. Currently we have a Ventaxia locarbon extractor and a second vent both in the ceiling void but exiting at the opposite sides of the building, however we have had a lot of issues with dampness, especially in the corners at floor level. Will fitting this unit QS10015 resolve the damp problems? Does the 22mm dia condensate drain need much of a fall or can it be close to horizontal and be laid outside? If not how much water will it generate, should it need to be drained into a container and emptied manually? Also does it operate through a single outlet or does it need a separate inlet / outlet?

Read moreanswer nowA Hello DavidYou dont mention that you are using refrigeration so will assume the cellar is naturally cool, the ventilation system does require two direct paths to atmosphere (inlet and exhaust) and should be more efficient than the current system as it will create a certain amount of air movement in addition to air change. The question regarding the damp is more difficult and would depend on whether it is solely due to condensation. The condensate drain is more a precaution than a necessity but should be open and recommend draining into a clear container for monitoring.

Is it just used for storage?Is it one open area or has it been divided up or converted to living accommodation?Or recreational facilities?Is there any means of vapour creation in the cellar? Bathroom? Kitchen?Are all of the walls earth retaining?What ventilation does the cellar have at present?Is it heated?The answer to these questions may help us to recommend an appropriate product or at least narrow the options.RegardsIan

Hi, the house has a bathroom extract fan but this doesnt seem to be enough as we are getting mould in the bedroom. I thought a quiet trickle room extract with heat exchanger would be good but the outside wall is hung with tiles so would be difficult to fit. I wondered if this would be OK in the loft with an extract grille in the bedroom ceiling. Could it extract through the roof soffit to save making a hole in the actual roof? I cant see a diagram of how it is supposed to be set up. Thanks

This unit does not have a frost stat as its not required. This unit is a ventilation system designed to extract moist and stale air from a room and replace it with fresh air from the outside of the property. The extracted air is passed through a heat exchanger before being exhausted to the outside of the property.
