The MF100S is a mixed flow inline fan. It isnt designed to run constantly. You can wire it up to a Humidity sensor/Timer (MAN1361) which can help to control the humidity.Kind regards, Marc

The MF100T strictly speaking is a bathroom fan.I would recommend introducing some fresh air into the the cellar.The best way would be heat recovery as it will bring in fresh air and take out moist air. A Good afternoon Mitch and good question.The long and the short of it is, it isnt designed to do so. It is an intermittent fan, where it activates as an when required. If you want a fan that is designed to run continuously, then you would need to look at multivents. The Standard model would be MEVDC2, which has 1 x 125mm spigot from the unit to the wet zone, and 1 x 125mm spigot to the exterior grill. These can run on a constant trickle speed, and boost via a switch like.Kind regards, Marc.

I am thinking of using the Manrose MF125S Inline Duct Fan Standard Model (QS9655) with the Manrose 1361 Remote Humidistat & Timer Controller (QS5409). It will be ducted from ceiling into a roof tile. Very short run to the fan in the loft with a 90 bend from the ceiling. Then will duct sideways and then upwards at a 45 degree angle to a roof tile. so from inline fan to roof tile would be around 1.5m. Would you recommend a condensation trap too? Please can you tell me all that I would need to order.

Hi. My electrician fitted my Manrose Fan yesterday and said there should be two half round clamps that secure the unit to the cradle. Is independent fusing likely or even necessary ?.answer nowA Hi Mr Blunden im Phil from the technical departmentis it possible to run a power test on the wiring going to the fan to see if theres power going to the fan.. it is very possible that a isolation switch or fuse is in place with a 3 amp fuse and are most likely in a accessible position however if there is not a isolation switch or fuse then it is advisable to install one which will reduce the amps to 3amps supplying the fan.I do hope this is helpful if you need any further assistance please dont hesitate to call me 0208 463 9518

You can either install an extract fan which is the Elix Range this extractor fan will do your duct run or you can install an in-line fan ILF100mm. Both of this items would require insulated ducting our flexible ducting can be used but would need to be pulled taught so that the air flow is not restricted or you can use rigid ducting and if you have insulation in your loft space this can be wrapped around the pipe. It is a basic cheapo 4 inch model that never really extracted. Questions as follows please.
1. Manrose fan looks like the replacement I need. However the current fan works from a switch outside the bathroom door i.e turn on fan using switch....shower......leave on for 5 mins turn off.
2. All wiring is in situe in the loft. Double pole switch - fused plug etc. Will I be able to wire this up in a similar manner and get it to work from the switch outside the bathroom door ?
3. Would 4 or 6 inch fan be better ?
4. Length of hosing will be no more than 2 meters - do you recommend pvc or aluminium and does this have to be pulled tight ?
5. Would you recommend a condensation trap ?

The MF100 fan unit is not made to be running on continuous, only intermittent, if left running it will burn out and invalidate your warranty For your requirements the Vectaire Elix range will do your application. The bathroom measures W 1.6m, L 3m, H 2.55m. We have a ceiling fan above the power shower. It doesnt at all cope with the steam produced even though it replaced a less powerful fan. The walls are 460 deep stone, should we core drill through rather than through a roof tile. What product would solve the problem?

Do you know what type of ducting you are using. If its a PVC Flexi duct, then it may not be performing its duties fully. Flexi ducting would need to be pulled tort to get maximum airflow, so if the duct is drooping, that will cause problems.If you wanted to go for a through the wall type, then you may want to look at the Kair Smart Fan - CRE100HTP. This is a continuous running fan, with Smart Humidistat, that constantly monitors the background humidity and adjusts the fan speed accordingly. My final point ref to the inline fan, is, does it only come on when you turn the light switch on? Might be worth adding a Humidistat to it if you can. We need to install an in line fan for a basement bathroom, after the fan position, we will have 1 meter of horizontal ducting followed by one 90 degree bend, this then leads on to 13 meters of horizontal ducting. Will this fan be capable of working correctly

Many thanks in advance Terryanswer nowA Hello TerryFeasibly the answer is yes, by reversing the fan it would be an input ventilator the extract at the opposing end of the room would draw the input air through. The problem, if there is one, is that the incoming air would not be filtered and could introduce airborne pollutants from outside. The problem, if there is one, is that the air would not be filtered and could introduce airborne pollutants from outside. I have mine mounted in loftspace secured by 4 screws in base to plywood board fixed across 2 roof beams. Can be heard running but low noise level not intrusive and any vibration is adequately damped by this installation. I have wrapped 100mm loft insulation around my fan and ducting pipework to avoid any condensation forming inside duct as my loft temperature is same as outside ie below zero in Winter, this eliminated this condensation problem. Highly recommended, excellent & very versatile fan at a very good price for bathroom or shower room extraction, remote humidistat module also available.

Its too early to give an opinion on reliability, but first impressions are that this is a quality piece of kit. The construction is considerably bigger and more robust than the replaced Screwfix inline fan. Although the peak power consumed is not high the rotor is large and gives lots of airflow – quite sufficient even on the low speed. No fan is going to be silent, but there is no issue here with noise. Very pleased so far – especially as its much cheaper than the two big brand names who seem to get poor reviews anyway despite their costs. And excellent service from I-sells!

Ordered two of these fans to replace existing lower rated fans in the main bathroom and an ensuite off the main bedroom. Easy to install, with clear instructions for wiring alternate connections for high or low speed running and timer setting. I wired them on high speed and set the timer on for about 25 minutes. Fans are relatively quiet because they are in line and not fitted to ceiling which usually causes a lot more noise. Now in in situ for a week and condensation problems in main bedroom and other parts of house have virtually disappeared even although we have been experiencing extremely low night and day temperatures during this winter spell. JOB DONE!

This fan performs well. This is my second fan of this model. The first one is mounted under the floor in the downstairs cloakroom and is drawing air from 2 places, one inlet in the shower and one the other end of the room. Timer set for 15 minutes. No moisture and no smells left after that time. The outlet duct is 5 metres long and and changes from 100mm round to 225 flat before exiting through the wall. The 2 inlet ducts are 2.5 metres each. one is 100mm round the other is 225 flat changing to 100mm round. at a T piece. Excellent fan, you cannot ask for more, the fan still works well even with a complicated duct arrangement.

A caution though, to those buying the speed controller along side, this does create more noise from the motor when used on low settings! Easy to fit and service, literally remove a couple of screws, the fan can be removed from the base for easy installation, the end panels/funnels remove so its easy to then separately wire up the fan, fit tubing to the end panels, screw down the base, put it all back together, tighten the two screws and job done. I mounted it using tap washers either side of the base plate to reduce vibrations, not sure if that was necessary but seemed a good idea. Replaced a 21 year old fan, clearly fans have progressed, this is much quieter and shifts a lot more air (from my paper over the fan grill test). But then I chose this fan specifically because it has low noise (dB) and high throughout for reasonable electric power cost. Using the higher speed setting, it is only noticeably audible in the bathroom, but then it sits on a loft board, right above the bathroom, and most of the noise comes from the vent. In the bedrooms, if you listen carefully, there is a slight hum, but nothing more. Thats good enough for me, no need to try the low speed setting or spend effort on soundproofing. The instructions suggest periodically cleaning the fan and I can see that will be very easy as it will literally just lift out of the base after removing the two screws.

Great extractor some reviews said it was noisy but I dont think so the only noise is the sound of air being drawn into the vent ? Fitted inlet above shower even after a long hot shower there is not a trace of steam or condensation in the room, before my WC cistern would be dripping water onto the floor & the mirror would be steamed up but now there is none of that & everything is dry ! So much power that there is a draft under the door as air rushes into the room from the hallway to replace the damp air extracted. Wonderful best thing I ever did to remedy the problem.

I-Sells provided fantastic pre-sales support and the Manrose MF-125S is installed and working perfectly. Ventilation/extraction is often seen as a simple piece of selection and installation, but there can be a lot of potential problems if you are unwary. The gentleman at I-Sells took the time to explain options and their respective benefits. For example, I ended up using rigid 125mm ducting and whilst it did take a little longer to fit (in a very old roof space), the end result is clean and robust and works very well. Thank you I-Sells.

Awesome fan. Very powerful, after a shower or bath the room is virtually bone dry. No misted mirror, no condensation running down the window (thats a first in 27 years). Easy to fit due to the fact the motor can be removed from its cradle. Slightly louder than my old one (it is 3 times more powerful) but not noisy. The price was the cheapest I could find by a long way for the same fan. Wish I had updated my bathroom fan years ago. Very happy.

Changing speed and overun time could be made easier with external switches rather than small fiddly (but clear) components on the circuit board bearing in mind these irtems are generally in a loft and access is not always easy. Only really need doing though initially, but only obvious improvement apart from a toolless cable connection (eg waygo levers etc). Great fan but be aware that the air speed can make a noise through a small grille opening…….

The fan is very good quality and the performance is better than expected. I have set it at the lowest speed and can still hear the flow of air through the extract grill. The fan itself is in the loft and cannot be heard. The sound level is not obtrusive and lower than a standard axial extract fan, but it was my goal to have the fan run as quietly as possible. I am still looking into ways of reducing the level of sound. The fan is probably over specified for the small size of the shower room and I suggest carefully assessing the required performance for the size of room.
