Can this fan (timer/humidistat version) be connected to existing fan wiring? The wiring is via a fused spur with L & N wires (and earth although I assume fan is double insulated and doesnt require an earth) i.e. there isnt a separate Ls (switch) wire. If so, which terminals would be connected to the wiring? Thanks

Im not a qualified electrician, so I am limited as to what I can advise, but if there is a constant live going to the fan, then the fan should activate via the humidistat. You just wont get an over run, which you dont really need. I would recommend checking the wiring diagrams for clarification, but logic does suggest I am right.Kind regards, Marc

QCan you inform me as to the maximum length of duct that can be installed with fan to outside wall and maintain the required extract rateanswer nowA Hello Jackie This fan is and Axial type (as opposed to Centrifugal which is designed duct runs) therefore short duct run is less than 2 metres in rigid and 1 metre if flexible.
Can this fan be wired to the switch and also to the bathroom light, so that when you turn the light off the fan will go off once the timer finishes.

However, we recommend referring to the manufacturers installation and wiring instructions before proceeding.
Does this extractor have vent flaps that would close to block a back draft?

A Hello EmmaNo there are no weather louvres on this fan and would be installed with a separate outer grille with gravity flaps or a cowled wall outlet
I HAVE AN AIRFLOW AURA ECO 100MST - WHITE FAN FITTED IN MY BATHROOM BUT I DO NOT THINK THE FLOW RATE IS ENOUGH AND WANT TO REPLACE IT WITH AN AIRFLOW AURA ECO 150HT - WHITE INSTEAD.
CAN I FIT A REDUCER (150 - 100) TO THE NEW FAN SO THAT IT FITS THE EXISTING DUCTING AND IF SO WILL THIS AFFECT ITS FLOW RATE SIGNIFICANTLY - THE DUCTING IS LESS THAN 0.5M LONG BEFORE VENTING OUTSIDE.

THANKS DAVEanswer nowA Hello DaveYou will not improve airflow rate by any significant amount installing a 150mm fan into a 100mm duct, what would be better is to install a more powerful 100mm extractor or one that is continuous running with humidistat control such as the Lo carbon Vent Axia range or the Nuaire Cyfan.I hope this helps.

Neat little slimline fan. Not fitted yet but it came on time and looks like it will do the job. Would recommend for areas where you need a fan for building regs but dont think you will use it much. If you are using fan often (e.g. bathroom) then definately recommend going for a inline fan with two speed & timer…e.g. http://www.i-sells.co.uk/manrose-mf100t-100mm-inline-duct-fan-with-timer-two-speed-high-performance
