I like the look of this grille a lot, but how would one clean the fly screen? If used as an extract vent, the fine mesh will presumably get gradually clogged up with dust etc. and need cleaning, including the inside side of the mesh. How would one accomplish this please?

I want to use this on the outside of an inlet air duct, so the louvres must be fixed, i.e. I cannot have gravity closing louvres. Are the louvres fixed?

I need to fit some vents into a chimney stack that we are having to seal due to the fact that there is a cement/asbestos chimney liner running through the stack. Would these vents be suitable and how many would I need to fit to avoid damp forming in the disused stack?

Would these vents be suitable and how many would I need to fit to avoid damp forming in the disused stack?answer nowA Hi GrahamThe usual method of ventilating a chimney is to have vents at high and low level to create a through flow of air and avoid the build up of condensation within the stack. This is often done by installing hit and miss ventilators which would require a rectangular aperture, the product you have referenced is a 100mm round vent which will be suitable if you are core drilling the holes. Common practice is 2 vents per floor.

I have high powered Neff 900mm wide chimney extractor with 150mm pipework. I like the look of this, but the Free Area is 126 cm2 whereas the squarer model with non-return flap (DUCSS153) has a Free Area of 165 cm2. Im assuming that will result in better extraction rates and so would be a better choice?

Looking to cover the outlet from a brewery copper which is vented to outside using 100mm flexible ducting.
It boils for around an hour, and therefore generates a lot of steam.
Having melted a plastic vent was hoping this would be suitable but says maximum temp, 60C.
Would it be damaged by higher temperatures ?

Please see below the factories reply to your question. We would normally suggest anoperating temperature range of -20°C to +100°C for the Stainless Steel Valves, but the actual Melt Temperature of Stainless Steel is around 1400°C. It must be placed in before fixing the vent to the wall. 1. Place on the rubber seal on the vent.2. Hook the drip deflector at the bottom of the vent, it will fit perfectly on the rubber part and outside of the vent.3. Fix vent to the wall.Please see This Picture as an example on how the drip deflector should be hooked.Hope that helps!
