KAIR COWLED VENT COVER ROUND SPIGOT
Kair cowled vent with damper flap and round spigot. Designed for use with round ducting.
Cowl protects against driving rain and gusts of wind entering your property via the duct run.
Damper flap can be closed to help reduce unpleasant odours, noises, or draughts flowing back through your duct.
- Wipe-clean durable design for indoor or outdoor use.
- Suitable to use in compliance with Part F Building Regulations.
- Airflow performance independently tested by BSRIA or BRE.
- Built to last out of high-quality Polystyrene/Polypropylene plastic material.
- Easy to install and durable, just push-fit duct and fittings together.
- For permanent fixings, seal joints with silicone sealant or tape.
- Max / Min Temperature: +60c / -15c.
Perfectly suited for ducting your bathroom or kitchen extractor fan, hydroponics, in-line extract fans, tumble dryer, or a cooker hood.
This item can be used as a part of a long ductwork run for a variety of purposes including whole-house ventilation, passive stack vent, positive input ventilation, air conditioning, HVAC, and Heat Recovery systems.
PLEASE NOTE: The cowl comes from the manufacturer with ‘slightly bent’ sides. This is to enable easy removal of cowl initially so that backplate can be screwed to the wall. Once secured the cowl can be fitted into the backplate and sides pushed so that the sidewall clamps click into the backplate.

A Good morning, No it cant, as it has a spigot on the rear of it to go inside 100mm ducting. If you have a louvred grill and need a cowl to go over it to give a bit of wind protection, then take a look at RYTABC8BS.Kind regards, Marc

A Hi Christine. You would probably be better off with a louvred grille - VKC275-BR. as the damper flap may cause a bit of air resistance and may not ventilate properly.Kind regards, Marc.

Hi, my bathroom extractor is fitted to a Screwfix vent - Manrose Cowl Vent Brown 100 x 100mm (14789) - but as its NE facing it is still subject to rattling in the wind and is not doing what I want it to. Will your product minimise the wind noise? I prefer black as the colour.

I prefer black as the colour.answer nowA Hello IanThe Manrose cowl you indicate appears to have a gravity flap inside the same as the DOM44902BK therefore there is unlikely to be much change in prevailing wind. It is possible the flap is too light and attaching some small section of draught excluder to the inside bottom of the flap may reduce the noise.
Are they suitable for a vent in a room with a gas fire.

Many thanks.answer nowA Hello MikeThis really depends on the diameter of the hole behind the grille?The dimensions of the square back plate for the Cowled wall outlets (plastic and metal) are 180 x 180mm with 150mm round spigot for the fan duct.If the hole for your fan is 150 diameter then there should be ample fixing for the standard cowled wall outlet.

The pipe is available in three lengths, so I would suggest selecting the most appropriate length for your cavity wall and duct run. The screws are well inside the cover.answer nowA Hello AngieThe front cover is held in place by four little nibs, by inserting a flat head screwdriver between the cover and the outer frame about 15mm from top and bottom, a little pressure will allow them to pop out, the back draught shutter hangs on two little hinges at the back of the cover so it will probably fall off as you remove it.To re-attach, hang the shutter on the two hinges, line up and insert the nibs in the frame on one side and then just pop back into place.I hope this helps.RegardsIan

The flip cover stucks inside and does not open. I manually had to keep that cover permanently open for the air to go through. It would be fine if better material was used. I purchased two but going to throw both of these as there is no point of returning due to same amount of postage as their own value.
