Kair Smart Fan Window Kit
Window kits allow you to install an extractor fan into a bathroom or kitchen so that you can extract condensation or moisture without the need for opening a window.
This is especially useful during the colder months of the year, as you will no longer need to allow cold air and draughts into your home. This not only increases your comfort but also saves on expensive heating bills.
In order to install a window fan, simply follow these steps;
- Find an appropriate window in the bathroom, kitchen or utility room.
- After finding the ideal spot for your fan, use a glass cutter to cut a 115mm hole (for 100mm fans) into the glass panel. If you are uncomfortable doing this, you can take the panel to a professional glazier, or call for a professional handyman to cut the glass for you.
- Carefully position the plate box against the window and hold into place using mastic sealant. From the interior of the room, place the spigot of the fan through the hole to the exterior.
- Connect up any wiring.
- From the exterior of the window, place the external grille over the hole and screw the grille into place. This will then secure and hold the fan tight to the window.
- Use Sealant to create an airtight seal around the window extractor fan.
