This item is for an exterior install and has a damper which closes when the fan is not in use and stops the blow back of air. I have an existing 140mm hole and pipe in ceiling, my current diffuser is 125mm wide and fits securly into the 140mm pipe with the spring clips, so I do not need the retaining ring, will your 125mm difuser fit into my 140 pipe? Im just not sure what is the 125 from your drawings sorry.

The 125mm is the diameter of the Spigot for this item, It fits within a piece of 125mm ducting.There are pictures on the product page which show how it would fit together. A Hello KaiThere would be no need to install a silencer for a domestic ventilation system as there is so little noise and the insulated ducting acts as a silencer anyway
Can this vent be screwed completely shut to stop air flow if required?

Is this product suitable for use with flexible PVC ducting, please?

A Hello Robert, You could connect our flexible 152MM PVC Hose (Model: DUCP0092/152/35) to the spigot on the DUCVKC366F ceiling vent diffuser. You would need to attach the hose using a quick release clip, or a metal hose clip. Nice looking vent in ceiling not a oversized ugly looking one & its opening is adjustable I dont recall seeing that mentioned when I ordered it ? The retaining ring could be improved its a bit flimsy so I fitted a 100mm clip behind it so should the rose need to be taken down for cleaning etc I wont have to get into the loft to secure the fitting again. Would have got 5 stars otherwise.
