SEMI-RIGID ALUMINIUM HOSE
Kair Semi-Rigid Aluminium Ducting is a perfect compromise between the strength of galvanised rigid duct and the versatility of aluminium flexible duct. This product is supplied in a compressed length and can be used with extractor fans, heating / cooling systems, portable air conditioners, cooker hoods, tumble dryers, and ventilation systems.
3m lengths compress to less than 1m for easy storage, and can be cut in sections to suit your requirements. Perfect compromise between the strength of rigid duct and the versatility of flexible duct.
- Versatile and durable aluminium hose with no reinforcement.
- It can be twisted and bent around obstacles, but is stronger than typical aluminium flexible hose.
- Capable of handling higher working temperatures than other ducts and so is suited for boiler or heating applications.
- Max / Min Temperature: +150c / -30c.
- Easy to cut and compresses for storage.
- Bending radius: 0.76 x D.
- Maximum Operating Pressure: 10,000 Pa.

Semi-Rigid Duct is ideal for fans installed on outside walls or in awkward locations. Perfect for ducting your Bathroom or Kitchen extractor fan, Hydroponics / In-Line Extract Fans, Tumble Dryer, Cooker Hood, or Heat Recovery Ventilation System. Connect a hose to the relevant spigot/outlet and fix in place using a metal hose clip or tape.
Whilst compressed diameter size is larger than shown on listing, once fully extended diameter will shrink to listed size.

A Both ducts will have an internal diameter of 125mm, so either of them would fit the bend. They are just measured differently by their manufacturers. One measures I/D and the other measures O/DKind regards, Marc
What is the internal diameter of this pipe when compressed. The largest it can be? I see previously stated the internal is 125mm, but i assume this is at full extension. I require it to fit over a pipe measuring 128.2mm

I want to use this to extend the heater channel on a classic car, but the 102mm dia is slightly wider than Id need. Can the ends be compressed easily? is the metal soft enough? Not found anything else compatible! Thanks

Is it O.K. to fully extend it (from 0.8m to 3m, then bend it into shape and re-compress? In essence, my question is how many times can I bend it without splitting the aluminium?

When using a Flexible duct for ventilation, it is always good practice to keep it as tort asThe answer to your last question is unknown, but bending it several times is likely to weaken the structure of the material.

Hi I have a Neff cooker extractor fan with an outlet of 150mm. They also have included a reducer which fits the spigot of the outlet. I would like to use this. This would mean discarding the reducer supplied and using a 150mm to 125mm reducer (search code QS354) and then 125mm ducting to atmosphere.

I need to duct out a wall mounted cooker hood with 150mm ducting which will run 3m through a pre-existing box which has a steel in it which is fixed into the outside wall. Because of access issues and the fact that the run wont be dead straight, would it be possible to fit rigid plastic from the outside wall and then join it to this semi rigid aluminium on the inside and then join semi rigid onto top of cooker hood, or onto 90 degree rigid plastic bend to get to cooker hood? What would I need to order to do this? Thanks

Thanksanswer nowA Hi AshaIf we understand correctly it appears you are trying to connect existing 150mm duct to new semi rigid duct, and add a 90 degree bend in which case you would need a connector (QS284) and hose clips (QS396). If connecting semi rigid to the hood spigot it should fit over the top, if connecting the 90 degree bend to the hood you would need to create a collar from rigid plastic duct (QS382)
i require 6 metre in length how do i join the two together? Plus how rigid are they? will they stay in the same form and in the same position once bent like lead flashing

I am thinking about using thie semi-rigid aluminium hose to replace the plastic hose used for my bathroom ectracor fan. We have occasional problems with mice and they have eaten holes through it. Do you think this could help?

A more robust product I.E. our galvanised spiral ducting maybe a better option. Product code GALSS-100

Thanks!answer nowA Hello, My suggestion would be to use a safe male connector (GALNPU-150) - This will fit inside the semi-rigid hose and will form a tight seal without the need for any clips, tape, or any other effort on your part - and the connector will be almost invisible as the hoses will go over each end. The semi-rigid can be cut to the appropriate size and different lengths can be joined together using the connector.With kind regards, Michael

The join between the hose and plastic is going to be fiddly and inaccesable so I want to make a solid join that I can fit and forget. Something better than gaffer tape is needed here, what do you suggest?

You will require a male connector to join the two pieces of ducting together. On the rigid side use duct tape to seal the joint and on the flexible side a quick release worm clip will be required.
